One of the highest points of interest that will be presented at our stand is the industry’s most advanced High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) codec. The HEVC codec allows broadcasters to reduce the bandwidth needed to deliver Ultra High Definition Television (UHDTV).

HEVC will be used first in applications where bandwidth is a problem today and the client device will easily be updated to support HEVC, either because it is a device that users replace frequently (smartphone) or because it is flexible to support HEVC as it is (PC). This means OTT delivery of live and on demand content, especially over wireless networks, is likely the first economically viable use case
