A few words about dynamic ad insertion.

ATEME and AdGorilla booth

Last week, ATEME exhibited at the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) Cable-Tec Expo in Denver, CO as part of the AdGorilla/S&T exhibit.

Together, the three companies demonstrated the entire dynamic ad insertion/targeted advertising capabilities of AdGorilla featuring MPEG-2 to MPEG-4 video transcoding provided by ATEME and monitoring capabilities provided by S&T. The SCTE-35 standard for ad insertion provides for ads to be inserted directly into the transport stream by passing though the SCTE-35 signaling in ATEME’s TITAN transcoding solution.

We were able to demonstrate several MPEG-4 targeted feeds allowing for dynamic ad insertion from a single MPEG-2 source. With local advertising providing a critical revenue stream to the cable, telco or DTH provider this demonstration was very powerful and attracted a lot of interest from providers and programmers. Look for more developments on this exciting technology ecosystem from ATEME and AdGorilla in the near future.
