ATEME [pronounce ‘a-‘ as in ah and ‘-tem’, ignore the final ‘e’] was founded in 1991 in Bièvres, near Paris, France. From our start we placed a strong focus on developing new technology related to signal processing and digital compression and forged partnerships with high-performance programmable semi-conductor providers Texas Instruments, Altera, and Xilinx.
In 2003 we introduced two product ranges, the first targeted at video security applications and the second at broadcast and broadband video compression segments. The following year we co-developed the MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 software encoder, Nero Digital, for the PC.
In 2005 we introduced the world’s first FPGA based MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 encoder and launched a series of new products for broadcast, broadband and video security applications.
In 2007 we launched our Kyrion family of encoders at the NAB show in Las Vegas.
In 2008 we expanded our operations in North America and incorporated ATEME Inc opening an office in Burbank, CA.
In 2009, we launched new innovations to the market with the Titan platform for massive parallel multi screen transcoding, and the world first MPEG-4 4:2:2 10-bit encoder and decoder pair for the high end contribution market.
Throughout the history of the company we have been solely dedicated on video compression and have developed significant competencies in this area. Throughout the history of the company we have been technology innovators. |
