ATEME Expands US Operations

Yasser Syed PhD joins applications engineering team

ATEME SA, a world leader in H.264 video compression technology, today announced the expansion of its US operations with Yasser Syed, PhD joining the North American applications engineering team.

 

Dr. Syed joins ATEME from Hewlett Packard where he worked as a digital video workflow architect and was the lead contributor to the Applied Content R&D team for the Digital Entertainment Services group.

 

Prior to Hewlett Packard, Dr Syed spent several years at CableLabs where he represented the cable industry and participated in the coordination of licensing terms for the H.264 video standard. As a member of the Society of Cable Television Engineers (SCTE), Dr. Syed has played an instrumental role in the standardization of H.264 for broadcast video applications.

 

Dr. Syed earned his Ph.D. in Electronic Engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington.
