Gustavo Marra presenting at the Cable Show 2014Just three weeks after wrapping up the NAB Show in Las Vegas, ATEME was in Los Angeles for the annual gathering of cable operators from around the world.

  • Primarily a US event sponsored by the National Cable Television Association, it does attract a large number of international attendees. ATEME exhibited as part of the CableNet pavilion organized byCableLabs and was the hub of advanced digital technology at the show.
  • In addition to productive visits and meetings with cable operators and other MVPD (multi-channel video program distributor) companies, several cable programmers stopped by to see the latest ATEME HEVC and AVC compression technology and our excitingLiveSphere 360-degree immersive video experience. ATEME’s Director of Applications Engineering for the Americas, Gustavo Marra, and I also presented LiveSphere as part of the Imagine Park demonstration stage which showcased the future of television.
  • 4K is starting to garner some interest in the US cable community, and ATEME’s involvement with Homechoice of Korea for the launch of the world’s first dedicated 4K channel generated a lot of discussion and interest at the show.

The Cable Show rotates venues each year, and next year the show will be in Chicago in early May – we hope to see everyone there!
