Rémi BEAUDOUIN, ATEME Director of Product MarketingBièvres, September 09 2013

Dorota Bouskela: Last time we met, ATEME was fully involved in the preparation of IBC. We are getting closer to this important event and I heard you intend to have a compelling presentation on the booth. Could you give us more details?

Rémi Beaudouin: Yes, as explained in July, we will show our new products and solutions for Contribution, Video Head End Distribution and Multi-Screen VOD. One major vantage point of this IBC is the productization of the HEVC technology. TITAN product lines will leverage first from the bandwidth savings of the new codec. Right from September, TITAN File will be able to process 4K movie in HEVC with a stunning video quality compared to H.264. With the forthcoming addition of HEVC in TITAN live encoder, we will be able to provide our customers with the best bandwidth efficiency for their new services roll-out.

DB: I know you wanted to talk about a new technology for video multiplex operators. What can you tell us about it?

RB: This technology is called the Seamless Channel Insertion™ (SCI). Our Kyrion CM5000 encoder supports it. It will help contribution professionals plan and manage a feed-multiplex or a turn-around feed bouquet allowing operators to change video bitrate on the fly with no service interruption.

DB: What about the technology corner? Anything new around 4K?

RB: People stopping by our booth will have the opportunity to appreciate our latest status UHDTV 4K video quality, with outstanding pictures of the new format. We will be demonstrating some compelling comparisons of Ultra HD video encoded in H.264 and HEVC.

DB: Thank you for your time and see you at IBC booth in the next few days for the major announcement still to come.
