ATEME sets the future of multi- screen TV Delivery

After the 4:2:2 10-bit breakthrough for contribution allowing end users to enjoy the highest Video Quality possible, ATEME launches yet again a new trend in the video compression technology – EAVC4 encoder designed for multi-screen delivery.

Today, content is being watched on multiple screen devices. However, the quality and speed leave a lot to be desired. The new EAVC4, H.264 encoder was designed in order to adapt video content for specific screen sizes and available bandwidths through an optimised encoding software algorithm. It enables the same video quality encoding with 20% less bandwidth!

“The EAVC4 is a great success. It created such a big buzz that we do not have a single day without a phone call inquiry!”, says Emmanuel Boureau, VP sales EMEA & APAC.

A white paper on EAVC4 “The Ultimate H.264 Encoder” has been written by Pierre Larbier, CTO ATEME with the cooperation of Jim Hunt, a freelance technology writer on advanced content creation. Read here

An interview with Benoit Fouchard, CSO ATEME, “Unlocking the future of multi-screen TV delivery” by Jake Jung, has been published in the TVB Europe, July 2012, p.6, where Fouchard explains the main benefits and criteria for the EAVC4 encoder development. Please download the document below.
