The project was delivered in close collaboration with Akamai, enabling Dish Home to stream high-profile cricket events at scale with improved video quality, operational resilience, and cost efficiency.
Dish Home, operated by Dish Media Network Ltd., is one of Nepal’s leading Direct-to-Home (DTH) and internet service providers. As the official rights holder for streaming Nepal Premier League matches, Dish Home delivers live sports content to audiences nationwide through its DishHome GO App. To support growing viewership demand and the operational requirements of large-scale live sports events, Dish Home migrated from a legacy on-premises encoding infrastructure to a modern, cloud-based architecture built on Ateme’s TITAN Live.
The new workflow leverages TITAN Live deployed on Akamai Cloud, ingesting live feeds via SRT and RTMP, and operating with a fully redundant primary and backup pipeline to ensure uninterrupted service during high-profile matches. Encoded streams are delivered in HLS formats and distributed via Akamai CDN, providing scalability and reliability required to support peak concurrent audiences during Nepal Premier League fixtures.
This architecture has significantly enhanced Dish Home’s Quality of Experience (QoE) for live sports viewers, delivering consistent picture quality and stream stability during high-traffic events. The cloud-based deployment has also simplified operations by reducing infrastructure complexity and enabling greater agility in managing live event workflows. Designed for future-growth, the platform supports Dish Home’s roadmap for upcoming sports properties and evolving streaming requirements.
A key advantage of the deployment is its high-availability design, which minimizes risk during critical live broadcasts such as playoff and final matches. By moving away from fixed, on-premise infrastructure, Dish Home has optimized costs, by aligning resource usage more closely with event-based demand while maintaining broadcast-grade reliability.
