Amsterdam, September 9th, 2011. Megahertz, now rebranded and part of KIT digital, Inc. (NASDAQ: KITD), a premium software solutions and services provider for multi-screen video management and delivery, and ATEME announced today at IBC2011 that the next outside broadcast vehicle designed by the UK-based systems integrator for Via Storia will include the latest encoding innovations for SNG operations.

ATEME will supply Kyrion CM4101 encoders and DR8400 decoders for the project, enabling MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 transmissions with up to 4:2:2 10-bit coding precision and up to 1080p50 or 60 resolution and frame rate.

“We need our vehicles to cover all the scenarios required by our diversified European customer base” explained Mr. Jean-Luc Antoine, Technical Director at Via Storia. “ATEME encoders are favored by many broadcasters for their picture quality, robustness and broad interoperability with legacy equipment – a natural choice for this project” added Mr. Antoine.

Steve Burgess, Technical Director, EMEA, KIT digital, Inc. commented “Compression is just one of several innovations we are building into this SNG vehicle. At KIT digital we pride in designing future proof systems, and in supporting the broad requirements of service providers such as Via Storia to ensure their long term commercial success.”
