ATEME to Demonstrate Latest Advances in Video Compression Technology at NAB 2013

ATEME, a global leader in advanced video compression solutions will be showcasing the latest in video broadcasting compression technology at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) convention in Las Vegas, April 8-11, 2013.

ATEME will be demonstrating the industry’s most advanced High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) codec on the trade show floor. This new HEVC codec will allow broadcasters to reduce the amount of bandwidth needed to deliver video entertainment at all resolutions, all the way up to ultra high-definition TV (UHDTV).

The company will be announcing that a major U.S. sports cable programmer has adopted its Kyrion CM5000 encoder for processing some of its most important live sporting event coverage. Additionally, a new Pay TV operator in the Caribbean is about to launch its service using a turnkey video head-end centered on the TITAN transcoding platform.

The company’s latest CM5000 Encoder and DR5000 Decoder will be on display as part of the QuickSPOT service and solution in On Call Communication’s satellite uplink truck at the Las Vegas Convention Center outdoor exhibition area (booth #OE504).

PRODUCTS HIGHLIGHTED:

•The Kyrion CM5000 modular encoding platform – Delivers all MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 AVC flavors: from Standard Definition to High Definition 1080p50/60 and from 4:2:0 8-bit processing up to 4:2:2 10-bit processing for unrivaled video quality and robustness over IP, ASI or even RF Networks with its optional built-in DVB-S2 modulator.

•The Kyrion DR5000 integrated receiver decoder – Based on ATEME’s unique FPGA design, the Kyrion DR5000 permits complete software upgradeability from SD to HD or 4:2:0 to 4:2:2, allowing broadcasters, teleport and satellite uplink truck operators, video fiber networks and video service providers across the spectrum to benefit from ATEME’s state-of-art of video compression techniques.

•The TITAN Transcoder – A carrier-grade software-based high performance video transcoding solution for live and file content dedicated to deliver the very best multi-screen video quality to TVs, tablets, PCs and mobile phones. The TITAN supports video resolutions up to the emerging 4K UHDTV and output formats including MPEG-2, AVC/H.264 and HEVC/H.265 compression standards, ensuring that TITAN is future-proof and feature-ready for the next decade of video entertainment.
