NAB2019 is now just around the corner and once again the ATEME will be heading to Las Vegas to showcase our latest solutions and pioneering developments from research we have conducted in the industry. This year, we will be located at booth SU6005, where we will be demonstrating how our converged software headend solution, TITAN, enables agile contribution and distribution, hybrid cloud operations for headend delivering video on any screen, 5G and ATSC 3.0 transmission and prepares for next-generation encoding with 8K processing.

  • The revolution of software-based encoding for ATSC 1.0 and 3.0 DTV systems

Prior to NAB, on Saturday 6th April at 1:30 pm – 2:50 pm, our VP Solutions & Business Development, Walid Hamri will review the benefits of software-based encoder solutions with respect to the current ATSC 1.0 DTV standard. The talk will also explore the future capabilities in Next Generation Broadcast Television (NGBT) systems / ATSC 3.0 alongside Tim Hosmer of Hitachi Kokusai Electric Comark LLC.   • Enhanced interactivity, immersion and personalized audio with HOA & Objects and MPEG-H

On Tuesday 9th April, 1.30 pm – 1.50 pm, our Director of Research & Innovation, Mickaël Raulet will be joining speakers from French Television. The panel will discuss how significant enhancements that have been promised with respect to audio experience when using some of the new formats supported by Next Generation Audio codecs like MPEG-H and AC4 are finally coming to fruition thanks off-the-shelf equipment like our encoders. The following day, on Wednesday 10th April at 11.40 am – 12.00 pm, you can catch Mickaël in action again, this time discussing how the future challenges of video compression can be met by leveraging both expertise in optimized compression and latest advances in artificial intelligence.   • 8K Seminar: The State of the Ecosystem and Prospects for the Future

Later on Wednesday 10th April at 1pm, as part of the 8K Seminar, you can hear Thomas Burnichon, our Product Marketing Manager, discussing “8K with HEVC & VVC – the history of codec development and how this will solve 8K distribution right on time”. Sign up to join the seminar here.
