SMPTE 2014 was another busy show for ATEME. The booth was frequented by the industries top executives and business was as per usual with updates on current technologies and the ATEME product roadmap.
HEVC was a hot topic and so were OTT channel services. We’ve set the bar high as it relates to HEVC and many are awaiting to see what ATEME does in the HDR and 2020 spaces. The efficiencies in HEVC are not the only alluring aspect and there are high expectations with regards to the wider gamut of color spaces.
The typical players attended the show and traffic was constant. The ATEME booth was attractive with the help of a good persisting relationship with LG and the 65″ Television sitting front and center displaying ATEME HEVC. Distributors and Service Providers were also very impressed with ATEME’s Live offering for HEVC OTT after viewing a demonstration of the new tech at less than 1MB.
Meetings were abundant and the likelihood of business spawning from a successful show is high. We’re looking forward to new opportunities and pushing the industry as HEVC evolves.
